Teacher Appreciation Week Profile: Dolores Saucedo

May 1st-5th was Teacher Appreciation Week! In honor of all the hard work that our teachers do day-in and day-out we wanted to profile several of our awesome teachers; taking a look at how and why they chose Immanuel to call home.

Dolores Saucedo is one of two 6th Grade Teachers here at ICS. She is an Alumnus of Ysleta High School in the Lower Valley and attended the University of Texas at El Paso, attaining a degree in Education.

Saucedo has worked at ICS for 24 years now. After the birth of her daughter, she wanted to leave public school to be able to teach at a school where her daughter could also attend. Her favorite memories occur monthly, as she gets to lead our Elementary students in worship during Great Friday’s. “I love to see them worship our God!”, said Saucedo.

When asked if she always wanted to work in education, Saucedo said, “I have always wanted to be a teacher [ever] since I was a young girl. It was God’s calling on my life.” She loves teaching and studying the Bible with her 6th graders. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, crocheting, and even knitting!

Thank you Dolores Saucedo for being a part of our ICS Family, your hard work as an educator is truly appreciated!
