Our Story

Our Story

In 1969, the congregation of Immanuel Baptist Church felt called to establish Immanuel Christian School (ICS) as a ministry to the El Paso community. A daycare program was added in 1972, and for the next eight years, the ministry grew steadily. In 1980 the congregation once again felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit to begin adding elementary grades and later junior high. The culmination of this vision to bring the gospel to the children of the El Paso community came in 2002, when ICS dedicated a new high school wing and graduated its first high school class.
Located on a beautiful, 100,000 square-foot campus on the busy corner of Hawkins Boulevard and Viscount Street in East-Central El Paso, Texas, Immanuel Christian School continues to serve students from 2 years old through 12th grade. Over the years, the vision of ICS has expanded beyond reaching the children of El Paso only and now serves families from across Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and surrounding towns and communities. The school is also blessed to serve the military community with families from around the world stationed at nearby Fort Bliss.

Our Mission

Our mission, revised in 2024, is clear: ICS partners with families through Christ-centered education to anchor each student in God’s Word, nurture a relationship with Jesus Christ, and equip them to use their skills and talents to further the Kingdom of God. Our ARISE values – Anchored in Christ, Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence - provide the framework for our relationships, instruction, and programs. From the classroom to the football field, we strive to put Christ first and equip students and families to succeed with excellence and impact their community and world through the Gospel.
