Teacher Appreciation Week Profile: Jose Saenz

May 1st-5th was Teacher Appreciation Week! In honor of all the hard work that our teachers do day-in and day-out we wanted to profile several of our awesome teachers; taking a look at how and why they chose Immanuel to call home.

Jose Saenz is our 10th-12th Grade High School Bible Teacher. He is an Alumnus of Immanuel Christian School and attended the University of Texas at El Paso attaining a degree in Kinesiology and a Masters of Divinity from Liberty University.

Saenz has worked at ICS for 2 years now. As a graduate of ICS, Jose felt that the school poured into him, and his desire to come back came from a place of wanting to give back to ICS. “I wanted to do the best that I can to use the knowledge that I obtained in the Watermark Institute to share the love of Jesus with as many students as I can,” said Saenz. His favorite memory at ICS was going on the Senior Trip with the Class of 2022.

Saenz did not plan on pursing a career in education, saying it was a “shock” that this is the path the Lord lead him on. Saenz has deep roots to ICS. Besides being a graduate he shared his familial ties to the school—“My dad was a P.E. coach and assistant coach in varsity basketball and varsity tennis and head coach in JV basketball! I’ve truly followed in his footsteps. My grandma has also been working in the office forever!” Martha Saenz, in the school office, is Jose’s grandmother.

Thank you Jose Saenz for being a part of our ICS Family, your hard work as an educator is truly appreciated!
