With today being Good Friday, it feels appropriate that we share a little bit about our Spiritual Renewal Week, Oasis, that took place back in March. We were blessed to see many students put their faith in Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Savior, and see 13 ICS Students choose to put that Faith on display by being baptized.
Worship Arts Director Danny Rico said, “Oasis Week was all about finding God in the midst of the deserts in our lives. We were reminded about how true peace only comes from God. Although the mirages of life can sometimes distract us from Him, we know that the temporary happiness of the world cannot compare to the eternal joy that God provides.”
Each day of the week featured the ICS Worship team and a guest speaker or a series of breakout rooms. The guest speakers and room leaders included Pepe Olivares, Zach Medina, Julianna De Leon, and Iliana Medina. On the 5th Day of Oasis, the Immanuel Church Worship Team took the stage following an awesome series of baptisms. Friday’s service lasted well after school dismissed, as many students wanted to stay and worship, pray, and fellowship well into the night!
“We saw incredible things happen during Oasis Week. 29 people were led to Christ through evangelism by our students. 13 students were baptized. We saw many students come to Christ and jump in to the love that He offers. God is moving and we are ready,” said Rico.

The photos from this week would not have been possible without the help of a couple of ICS Seniors, Sofia Gomez and Hannah Ayala; much thanks to them for their help. The Day 5 photos of worship and baptisms, were some of the most powerful and moving photos I’ve seen taken inside our Sanctuary; Sofia did an outstanding job capturing the Holy Spirit’s work at ICS on that day.
Today, let’s remember what Christ did for us on the Cross, so that we could be spiritually reborn and saved, not because of anything we can do ourselves, but because of what Christ can do in us.
