Elementary School

Immanuel Christian School is a fully accredited school through ACSI.  Grades K-6th is considered our elementary program.  Through God’s provision, we have provided fifty years of quality, academically sound, and Christ-centered instruction to thousands of children.  A nurturing program filled with opportunities to excel academically and spiritually is the foundation of our school. The teachers are the “living curriculum”, with years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in the subjects they teach. Our curriculum is built upon national and state standards and is designed to foster the development of life-long learners.

" I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Psalm 32:8

At Immanuel Christian School we adhere to the philosophy that Christ must be at the center of everything we do.  Our faculty and staff recognize the importance of being strong in faith, equipped academically, and see the importance of a calling to teach. The importance of improving the culture of ICS, through technology, critical thinking, collaborative learning, as well as, tried and true rote education is seen consistently within the classrooms.   Multiple years of experience in our teachers, a continuous drive to promote academic excellence, and a belief that all students can learn is depicted in their personal and professional lives.  They believe in the importance of providing a nurturing and challenging environment in which the students can learn.  Rich learning experiences abound in every core subject, such as; Bible, Mathematics, Social Studies, Language, and Science as well as through a wide variety of enrichment activities.  These include Physical Education, Robotics, Lego Club, Ballet, Japanese Club, Worship Band, Art, Library, Computer, field trips, weekly chapels, and educational field trips and service projects.  Classroom instruction involves multiple curricula, such as, BJU, Purposeful Design, Abeka, and Mostos Literature.  The curriculum provides the foundation with a scope and sequence and the teachers provide the training utilizing multiple learning strategies learned during professional development and best practices conferences.  Teachers attend trainings through EPISD, Region 19, and UTEP, along with educational webinars and one on one trainings through ACSI.  The education that a child receives in the early years stays with them throughout their educational journey and equips them to be lifelong learners.
