Preparing our Students

January 11, 2021
At ICS, one of our expected student outcomes for our graduates is to be an influence in the marketplace, wherever the Lord calls these future men and women. At ICS, we do not serve as a shelter from the world but rather, a resource to prepare our students to enter the world and make a difference for Christ.
How do we go about doing this? First, each teacher, staff member, and administrator of our school must live out a clear testimony of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Next, we must teach and demonstrate what a biblical worldview looks like in every subject area and facet of our school. Third, as students mature cognitively, we must teach them to think for themselves through the processes of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Last, as students progress through their secondary years here, we must facilitate challenging discussions on difficult issues that are relevant to our world today.
I think about the issues in the past couple of years with the shooting in El Paso, the issues with racism our country has faced, and even what happened in our Capitol just a few days ago. We need to be proactive in preparing our students for what they will face so that when they graduate, they may be an influence for Christ in the marketplace.
We cannot do this without you, our families. Thank you for investing in the lives of your children and youth at Immanuel Christian School – you are a blessing!
