The week is finally here for Faith Climb, a 13-mile hike in the Franklin Mountains to raise money for Immanuel Christian School. All funds for this project will go toward COVID supplies, specifically our UV Light Disinfecting Machine.
Why is this fundraiser called Faith Climb? I, Mr. Davis, was diagnosed in 2002 with multiple sclerosis (MS). Whenever I have symptoms that worsen, it impacts different parts of my body including numbness and weakness in my legs, balance issues, and overheating. When I take on a challenge like this, it is an act of faith for me to give my very best and allow God to do the rest.
The hike is scheduled for Friday and my intent was to complete it in one day. Because the temperature for this week is in the 100’s, I have decided to do the hike in two days. I plan to be on the trail at 6:00 a.m. both Friday and Saturday mornings. I will check in hourly on Facebook Live if I have internet service and update my status.
We have already purchased the UV Light Disinfecting Machine and you can check it out by looking at the email from firstname.lastname@example.org on August 21. The email shares how to give and provides two videos; the first is a message from me and the second is a video specifically showing the UV Light Disinfecting Machine. You may also go to our school website at www.immanuelwarrrios.org and scroll down the page to our “Donate” button, call the school office at (915)778-6160, ext. 101, or visit the school office to give.
Thank you for this opportunity to raise funds to improve the health and safety of our school. Thank you for your prayers for safety both Friday and Saturday as I hike.
