School History and Mission

Immanuel Christian School opened its doors in September 1969, serving students in preschool through 2nd grade. The school added grades every year until it provided Christian education for students through 8th grade. ICS remained this way until 2001, when the high school was added. Immanuel's first graduating class was in 2002, with 6 seniors receiving their diplomas in the church sanctuary.

In 2004, Immanuel Christian School introduced a proprietary College Prep class and program, which incorporated cultural literacy, standardized test prep and personal planning for all post-high school endeavors. Since then, ICS has had 5 National Hispanic Scholars and one National Merit Scholar. Each year, graduates receive thousands of dollars in scholarships and Immanuel Christian School alumni now grace the campuses of such prestigious universities at Princeton Theological Seminary, MIT, Wellesley College, University of Notre Dame, UT Austin, TCU, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and St. Mary's University.

Mission Statement

Our mission is a simple one that has remained unchanged since our inception:

Providing children with quality, Christ-centered education, developing students who strive for academic excellence and  molding responsible citizens to embrace a distinctly Christian worldview.

Our goal or daily objective can best be summarized as follows:

We will use all of our talents, gifts and resources to lead our students to MEET GOD, KNOW GOD, LOVE GOD and SERVE GOD in order to fulfill His perfect purpose for their lives.

The Warrior Creed: Our creed captures what it means to be an Immanuel Warrior. The words are taken from some of our favorite Bible verses in epistles penned by the great apostle Paul and most importantly, in the case of the two Greatest Commandments, from the words spoken by Jesus Christ himself.

It is the mission and calling of our ICS faculty and staff to develop young men and women who are Warriors for Christ. The task of producing graduates who will seek to transform culture and seize the opportunity to be world changers requires the efforts of a community of believers and supporters.

The Warrior Creed

I seek first what is true

I long for what is noble

I fight for what is right

I preserve what is pure

I strive for excellence in all I do

I love God with all my heart

I love my neighbor as myself

I am one in Spirit with my ICS family

When I am confronted by culture I follow the path of Christ

I am an ambassador for God's Kingdom
