7th-12th Grade Community Service
Immanuel Christian School secondary students (grades 7-12) are required to complete community service hours each school year. This requirement is meant to teach our students, from a christian perspective, the importance of being a contributing member of their community through service, preferably to the less fortunate of society.
All students in grades 7-12 are required to complete 60 hours of community service per year. These hours may be served at most community service organizations and may be completed during the summer before the school year starts. Opportunities to earn service hours are also available throughout the school year through the monthly Adopt-A-Block program and through World Changers.
Adopt-A-Block is only for students in grades 7-12 and is a community outreach that ministers once a month to the neighborhood surrounding the school.
World Changers: is a school club that consist of Student Council Members from 7-12th grade who want to make a difference in our community. Our students attend weekly outreaches to different local shelters. In every visit we provide a meal along with groceries and we have our students interact with the children at each home through games and crafts. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others. Philippians 2:4
Elementary students also have opportunities to serve through the elementary student council events or through the church by raising donations or collecting goods (e.g. Thanksgiving food baskets, etc.).
